Most people in the Inland Northwest woke up to the sounds of rain and thunder Saturday morning. According to KHQ Meteorologist, Dave Law, the t-storm activity will stick around until about noon. There have been reports of lightning strikes that have knocked out power to scattered areas.
For people attending Hoopfest, Dave says to expect thunderstorms and clouds. Most rain showers should be brief, relatively light & more of a nuisance, But a passing thunderstorm might have you scrambling for temporary shelter for 30 minutes to an hour. Campers & boaters beware, possible severe storms will probably occur in the northeast counties of Washington, North central Idaho into portions of western Montana. Recurring thunder & lightning may be present from midday until darkness falls with a High 88°.
