New court documents released Friday detail what investigators found in the home where 33-year-old Regan Jolley was discovered dead in a plastic tub soaking in acid.
The documents say there were five other people living in the home along with murder suspect Jason Hart, including Regan's mother. It was one of those roommates who found the victim's body and reported it to police.
According to the documents, Jason Hart told his roommate on Monday that Regan had left to go camping for a few days. Then the next morning, that same roommate came home and noticed a light on in the detached garage.
When he went inside, it says he found a red bin that was out of place, covered by a blanket. It also says he noticed fluid on the floor and saw a jug of sulfuric acid near the plastic tub. When he lifted the blanket, he says he saw Regan submerged in some kind of liquid.
In the documents it says the responding deputy believed the liquid was water because it did not have a caustic smell. However, on the list of evidence, deputies found a white bottle of heavy duty drain cleaner, a chemistry book, and a gas mask.
Deputies also found what they believe is methamphetamine, a bullet proof vest, and season one of the show "Breaking Bad" on DVD.
While that may seem like a strange thing to take, the characters in season one do the exact same thing. They try to get rid of a body by soaking it in acid. Jason Hart's wife, Jessica, told us the two had watched that exact episode of the show within the last year.
