AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. - A public memorial for the patriots who lost their lives onboard a KC-135 that crashed May 3 will be held May 28, 2013 at the Inland Northwest Bank Performing Arts Center at 1 p.m. Capt.
Mark Tyler Voss, Capt. Victoria Pinckney and Tech. Sgt. Herman "Tre" Mackey III will be honored for making the ultimate sacrifice while deployed at the Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan. "Team Fairchild is a strong family. We remain resilient together during this unexpected and difficult tragedy that resulted in the loss of three Airmen's lives," said Col. Brian Newberry, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander.
"This memorial is a reminder for us to remember that freedom is never free, and we will not forget the sacrifices of Capt. Voss, Capt. Pinckney and Tech. Sgt. Mackey. They were great Airmen and will be forever missed." In order to respect the wishes of the Airmen's families, media interviews will not be conducted with family members of the fallen who may attend the ceremony. However, community members and media are invited to attend and honor these great Airmen.
