PRESS RELEASE FROM THE SPOKANE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE: On September 2nd, 2013, at 12:06 a.m., Spokane County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area of 8400 E. Jackson on a residential burglary call. The female homeowner said she had been sleeping and heard who she thought was her husband come inside the house.
She said she called out to her husband several times and did not get a response. A short time later she heard footsteps coming towards her bedroom, looked up and saw a man standing over her bed laughing. She had no idea who the individual was.
She yelled at the man, later identified as 31-year-old Christopher Lang, to leave several times before he walked out of the bedroom. She got dressed, walked out to the living room and saw Lang sitting on the couch.
Within a couple minutes her husband came home and followed Lang as he left the residence and walked south on Argonne. Sgt. Ellis arrived on scene and located Lang on Argonne. He ordered Lang to stop multiple times.
Lang refused to obey Sgt. Ellis' commands and he ultimately deployed his taser to take Lang into custody. Lang was treated and released at a local hospital for the taser application. Lang was booked into the Spokane County Jail on the charges of Residential Burglary, Obstructing, Resisting Arrest and Third Degree Theft.
